Via the Smart Growth America blog:
"Clever" home selling site lifts the verbiage and hook from the popular WalkScore site and applies it to - - ready for this? - - driveability.
Bad enough to think any location in modern America is not "driveable" (face it: we're 15 minutes from everything) but the site also lifts its language nearly verbatim from WalkScore.
As noted on the Smart Growth America blog:
Compare DriveScore:
We’ll be the first to admit that Drive Score is just an approximation of a convenient driving to places in your neighborhood. There are a number of factors that contribute to DriveScore that are not part of our algorithm:
Street width and block length: Narrow streets slow down traffic.
To the WalkScore page:
We’ll be the first to admit that Walk Score is just an approximation of walkability. There are a number of factors that contribute to walkability that are not part of our algorithm:
Street width and block length: Narrow streets slow down traffic. Short blocks make it easier to navigate the grid.
The trifecta: short-sighted, dishonest and lazy.
Not only that, it doesn't seem to work. I think it's an excuse to leave comment spam at blogs that talk about the walkscore site.
