It takes real balls to be a "planner" in the US. You have to be a fatalist supremeo. The odds are sooooo pitted against anyone trying to rationally plan for growth in a system that enshrines:
---citizen planning eg mom-pop-barfy the lab and all the other idiots on the building an zoning boards seriously laboring under the illusion they have the slighest idea of what to do---dont believe me?--just look around you at the results of their efforts
---an ideology that is overtly and covertly totally anti planning. the american mind about growth is to just let it happen so everyone can get his her or its way---thats democracy right? yeah--have a good look at it and puke
